With bachelors from Baker College of Michigan, concentration in Early Childhood and English; Chermel has a background in educational studies. With over 15 years of teaching children of many age groups, she has gained the knowledge to formulate different scaffolding strategies for children in their diverse learning styles.

Chermel has taken her knowledge of children, their learning styles, and curriculum-based information to write educational books that are fun for children to read.
A young girl wakes up Sunday morning and is excited to go to church to hear her favorite thing; the choir sing. Vibrant pictures illustrate the young girls experience and her memories of hearing the choir sing. This book also includes a lyrics and sheet music to the song in which the book is based on.
Alanda remembers spring, this year it seems different, and she is disappointed. “It’s raining outside!” Alanda's mother gives her an idea: It can be fun to play in the rain. Alanda plays and explores the outdoors but is surprised by what she finds, it is a frog. While trying to catch it she has trouble because it is too fast. In this book there are two stories
In this Interactive adventure, join Bennie the Bear as he flies around the world to visit three friends. During the adventure Bennie visits: Camila, the Golden Cat, who teaches Spanish, Babette, the Bunny, who teaches French, and Ping, the Panda, who teaches Mandarin Chinese. Help all three friends with activities while learning some of the basics of all three languages.

The book, “Pumpkin, God made you Different” was inspired by my struggles and successes being born with a disability. This book is to educate children about other children or adults living with a disability. Hopefully, it will help answer questions about differences in people and teach children to embrace diversity!
The book, Where is Major? is filled with so many learning opportunities to help children identify different places around the house, colors, shapes, and money. It is ideal for teachers and parents who want to teach a variety of learning skills through literacy.
Makayla, a child with autism, is non-verbal. By using "Letter Boarding" she communicates with her family. Makayla wants to be an advocate for children with autism, and when she smiles so many feelings are experienced. In "When Makayla Smiles," Dr. Hankins Cain shares just a few of them.
